Apeldoorn’s War Monuments

In the municipality of Apeldoorn, you can find close to fifty monuments and memorials related to the Second World War. Several of them have been adopted by Apeldoorn’s elementary schools. The monuments recall specific events of WWII, for instance the execution of resistance fighters, the deportation of the Jews from the Apeldoornsche Bosch psychiatric hospital, and the December 1944 Market Place razzia to populate the forced-labor camps.
